Albedo: Eyes From Outer Space Review (PS4)

B movie inspired space horror puzzler Albedo: Eyes From Outer Space does not make the best first impression. It looks fairly green and washed out with some bland voice acting. Initially your interest is grabbed by the concept of a mysterious space station watchmen getting sucked into a monster infested maze of puzzles but the monsters are fairly lame.

The puzzles are slightly better with some clever crafting hidden behind outdated visuals which hinder things, namely because it’s really difficult to make out what you can hold and what you can’t. The inventory system battles against you as it’s heavily text based and is more of a hindrance than a system to help you through the game.

First person shooting and melee sections are the horrible icing on this ugly cake. Some good ideas here but the execution ultimately lets it down with much better alternatives out there these days.
