Marvel’s Spider-Man Review (PS4)

There have been a lot of dodgy Spider-Man games. This isn’t one of them.

Insomniac have made some cracking games in the past, and Spider-Man definitely has its influences dug deep into the inFamous games, with its free flowing city traversal, massive gameplay area and tight fighting dynamics. In this game though you’re out to keep the city of New York safe from a range of bad guys, including famous enemies and those that might only be familiar to fans of the comics. The story itself is brilliant, so I won’t spoil it with specific details, but there’s a series of twists and question marks over certain characters as the game progresses culminating in an intriguing development that would, I assume, signal the inevitability of a sequel.

And let’s hope so, because there’s a tonne of stuff to do, some brilliant missions (although I wasn’t sold on those that you complete as other characters) and some awesome voice acting that really brings the game to life. It’s been a hugely popular game, and it’s easy to see why. If you’ve got a PS4 you should be playing this – you won’t regret it.
