Destiny 2 Review (PS4)
|Destiny’s back, and on its return a lot of the issues from the original game are fixed. Hooray!
It’s clearly apparent that this is still Destiny; the interface is the same, the feel of the controls is the same, and while your light powers are sapped from you at the start of the game, your various abilities also feel the same (although how those two things go together I won’t spoil).
The crucible is still here, public events are still here (but now easier to find on the map), but the crappy storyline, endless “go here, hold a button, fight lots of bad guys for a bit” quests and dodgy voiceovers are gone. There’s still loads of endgame content, in fact it’s easy to argue the game doesn’t start until you finished the story, and anyone who got hooked on Destiny first time round will be losing the next couple of years to this as well.
A very enjoyable game, very samey in certain ways, but with enough fixes to make it very worthwhile.
