Shellshock Live Review (PC)
|Imagine the ever-popular Worms games, but with the worms replaced by tanks. Hey presto, that’s Shellshock Live. Utilising a huge array of weapons from the expected to the outright bizarre, Shellshock Live offers a single player tutorial-style campaign and plenty of online options which allow you to send whoever’s tiny tanks to the great scrap heap in the sky, and it’s fantastic fun.
Shellshock Live became an unexpected hit when it bloomed on Twitch, developing a huge fan and player base in just a few days, and it’s easy to see why. Controls are easy to use, the simplicity in the visuals give a deceptively pretty look to everything and having so many different toys to throw at each other makes each game every bit as entertaining as you might want it to be. It’s also a killer just-one-more type of game, and with most matches taking only a matter of minutes you can usually squeeze a few more in before the other half starts nagging you to tidy the kitchen or let the dog out.
There’s a promise of new game modes as well, and with the game being available for under £5, there’s really no reason to ignore it any more.
