Undercover by Joe Carter Review
|Joe spent over twenty years working in the murky world of a British undercover police officer.
He fraternised with thieves, international drugs and arms dealers, he worked along side some pretty dangerous criminals and some pretty shady characters, he was always in fear of his life as it could all come crashing down at any moment.
For one of his jobs he created a whole new life for himself, even setting up home with a female undercover officer who was working along side him in this particular job. He became very good friends with some of the criminals he’d been tasked to set up and put away, I felt as the book progressed he actually felt a little guilty about what he was doing as he was spending time with them and their families, but he never once wavered from his goal though, so deeply undercover the times he was arrested he played the game and the arresting officers just thought he was another scumbag and treated him accordingly.
I really enjoyed this book and it gives a real insight in to what being an undercover officer entails, even sacrificing his real life to be the best he could be. A great read for me.
