Desperados III Soundtrack Vinyl Review

As a gaming sountrack nerd, a sizeable amount of my record collection is video game soundtracks. Recently I added to that with the incredible soundtrack from Desperados III, a wild-west game that was impressive enough by itself, but the soundtrack itself is incredible too.

The first thing you’ll notice if you get hold of the red marble version is just how stunning the record looks. The deep red colour with dark marbling through looks absolutely incredible, and has sparked numerous impressed noises from the people I’ve shown. It looks lovely on the turntable and doesn’t lose its appeal while it’s spinning. It’s truly a work of art.

The pressing is fantastic as well, I didn’t have a single crackle throughout both sides, and the music carries a beautiful warmth that you might ordinarily miss through other media. Even if you don’t know the game this is still some wonderful background music, and is already a record that lives within easy reach for when I’m working or reading – sure it’s got the Wild West vibe to it, and if that’s something you actively avoid then you won’t enjoy this, but you should definitely have a listen and see what’s on offer here.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll love it – check out Black Screen Records to bag your own copy when they’re back in stock.
