Moto 360 (2015) Review
|Smart watches are still pretty pricey options when it comes to telling the time, but with so much more on offer with each new device they’re starting to become a little more than just a way to show off. Along that idea comes the new version of the Motorola Moto 360, the follow up to one of the first round real-watch-like smart watches on the market.
First off, and one of the more important aspects of wearing a watch of any kind, the 360 is really comfortable, certainly no less comfortable than wearing a standard analogue watch. The strap was a good length for my wrist, didn’t pinch and stayed in place nicely without cutting off the blood to my hand, which is always a bonus. The screen itself is pretty impressive too, with a crisp display which shows the clock nicely in most light levels, and provides easy to read text when various things pop up to read. We found it great for quick at-a-glance checking, which is really useful when you’re driving or not wanting to spend ages staring at your watch.
It looks fantastic too, and while the strange flat bottom to the face still takes a slight edge off looks, it’s easy to forgive considering how sleek and well made this is. What’s harder to live with is the average battery life, which will give you a day of moderate work before throwing in the towel and needing a recharge. There are new processors round the corner which should prolong battery life, so maybe future watches will last longer, but having to charge it every night without fail is a bit of a pain.
But generally the 2nd gen Moto 360 is a great bit of kit. It’s comfortable, looks gorgeous and doesn’t break the bank as much as others might. Recommended.
