Homefront: The Revolution Review (PS4)

Reviews elsewhere have been harsh. There, I said it. Homefront Revolution is a very enjoyable open world shooter, which not only looks great but has a very good shooting mechanic and weapon customising system. While people have been complaining about an underlying tone of racism through the game, I’d ask them one thing: how would you expect a group of people to act who hate the Korean regime with such fierce intensity? Wander round saying “those North Korean chaps certainly know how to ruin my Sunday morning stroll…”? No. They swear about them, call them derogatory names. Like real people would.

My main criticism of Homefront Revolution is that the multiplayer side seems a bit glued on, an afterthought. But considering how many developers this game had it’s turned out very well, and those complaining about certain things ought to think carefully about what they’re actually criticising. If you don’t like it, fine, but it’s in fitting with the story of the game.

This certainly isn’t a game to ignore.
