Batman vs Superman Review

I’m not a fan of Superman. I am a fan of Batman. So I should have enjoyed at least half of this film but in truth it’s very difficult to articulate how bad and big of a mess this film is without spoiling key plot elements. But I will try.

BvS is terrible. The plot makes absolutely no sense with character motivation not questioned or explained. The lore of the characters are mostly ignored (Batman is a sadist hypocrite who frequently goes on killing sprees) or horribly miscast (Jesse Eisenberg thinks he’s in a Sorkin movie). Huge elements are left out completely in order to very quickly build toward an Avengers-esque Justice League film to the point that the film very literally contains trailers for other upcoming hero films.

There are a vast number of dream scenes, and even dream scenes within scenes that aren’t explained properly. The action is fast and dark and it’s a 12A that will scare to death half of the kids (and the associated merchandise sales).

To summarise: Batman vs Superman is a terrible mess of a film which I am more stupid for having watched.
