Want a chance to trick your friends, lie through your teeth and take huge joy in them swearing at you when it all goes to plan and they lose the game because of it? Skull is a game of bluffing, luck, and trying everything you can think of to try and read the faces of other people playing.

Each player takes it in turns to place one of their coasters face down on their pile, without revealing whether it was a skull or a flower. Eventually, one player decides there are enough cards and bids on how many they can turn over – starting with theirs incidentally – without revealing a skull. As each player only has one skull card it’s almost impossible to know who’s put what onto the table, that is until you start to poke and prod at the conscience of the other players. Trying to crack a straight face, catch out a bluff, it’s all part of the fun surrounding Skull.

It’s easy to learn, easy to enjoy, and an absolute pig to win. Everyone is out to deceive, everyone is out to annoy, and everyone is out to cause misery on the other players. And yo know what? It’s great fun. For a quick fix, or an evening of light family gaming, this should be a go-to game for anyone.
